Carroll Resigns Post LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 16.— Thomas J. Carroll, who several years ago took over the management of Norman W. Churchs Northway Stud and also occupied the post of assistant to trainer Woody Fitzgerald, has resigned his position as a result of Churchs having recently sold his breeding farm. Carroll left Los Angeles today for Saratoga Springs, N. Y., where he will visit his mother and then continue on to New York either to accept a training position or buy a few racers for his own account. Carroll, a competent conditioner of racing stock, proved exceptionally skillful handling yearlings, breaking and training scores of them for his employer.
