CASTEL BEAU, closer up than usual and between horses, was reserved to the stretch, responded readily and drew out to win as his rider pleased. ALICE SHERRILL saved ground throughout, came determinedly when punished and was up to best WATCH ANDY. The latter forced the pace while under mild restraint, took command rounding the final turn, could not withstand the winner and weakened. PUDDLE JUMPER made up some ground in the drive. CADET DICK had the most speed, gave way readily to WATCH ANDY and quit. KENDOR never threatened. DAUBERUP was outrun. DARK HEATHER quit Overweight— Alice Sherrill, 2 pounds. BAY ACRE, saved while outrun early, moved up after half a mile, saved ground in the drive and withstood the challenge of ALPINE KING. The latter, also outrun for half a mile, closed fast in the final furlong and might have won but for bearing in on the winner near the finish. PADUCAH, hustled to reach the lead, was taken in hand when outrun by THE MINTER, opened a clear lead in the stretch, then faltered. DISBET raced prominently throughout and held on evenly. QUEEN FLASH forced the pace on the inside, made a game bid entering the stretch, but could not reach the winner. OR-TETRA, outrun early, came around horses in the drive and finished fast. BAYONET made up some distance in the stretch. MAJOR ATTACK raced evenly between horses. K. COOKIE had a rough trip PRINCESS ELIZA was outrun. BE BUSY had no excuse.
