Moldy Furnishes Upset In Kings Plate Score Drives Home Half Length Before Burboy at Woodbine Park Course WOODBINE PARK, Toronto, Ontario, May 24. Moldy, three-year-old son of Teddy Wrack and Obituary, carrying the jacket of Col. R. S. McLaughlin, a director of the Ontario Jockey Club, had his name added to the roster of Kings Plate winners when he proved somewhat of a surprise victor of the eighty-eighth running of that historic feature here at Woodbine Park this afternoon. Handled faultlessly by jockey Colin McDonald, the Arthur Brent-trained performer, conditioned in Florida the past winter, sped to the conclusion of the mile and a furlong test a half-length before the Bur-Fit Stables Burboy, who was a neck before the Don-Earl Stables Watch Wrack, who held third position safe from Harry Lahmans Kanlee by a like margin. C. G. McCullaghs Tularch, who received most support from the talent, tired very badly after showing speed for the opening six furlongs and wound up beating just one horse. Moldy was held at slightly better than 17 to 1 with the talent and he completed his task in 1:54. Showing a better brand of speed than he was rated, Moldy raced along in close attendance of the pace, while Florist, Tularch and Yellow Knife were battling it out for the early leadership. Leaving the back lane, McDonald went to work on the Park-wood Stable representative, moved into the lead midway of the last turn with a rush, then, after drawing out into a three-length lead straightening out, continued stoutly to hold off the rapidly-closing Burboy, who finished boldly in the final quarter-mile after being outpaced early. Watch Wrack came from a good distance back to garner the third slice of the purse, just managing to outfinish Kanlee, who came from well in the rear after breaking from outside the stall gate. Tularch had no excuse. He broke fast and when he failed to get to the front, gradually dropped right out of contention.
