Board to Meet With HBPA And Grooms Committees HAWTHORNE, Cicero, 111., May 24. The Illinois Racing Board will hold a meeting at 10 a. m. Tuesday, May 27, at its downtown Chicago office. According to an announcement by board chairman Maj. Ednyfed H. Williams and secretary Clement A. Nance, a committee from the Grooms and Exercise Riders Association will meet with the board, along with a group from the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association. An effort will then be made to straighten out the differences between the two racing organizations. Also scheduled for further hearing at the board session will be the case of trainer William B. Harrison.
