Illinois Notes LINCOLN FIELDS at Hawthorne, Cicero, HI., May 24. Daniel E. Stewart, veteran turfman, arrived here today from Kentucky and registered Chicalmo, Chicle Red, Sweeping Witch, Heterist, Rhodelin and Seaton Pippin. The Stewart charges are owned by various patrons and the stable may be enlarged before shipment to Arlington Park. C. H. Hanford, former rider, is an arrival from Maryland. He registered Jousting Match, Ever Message and Beggars Last, the property of Madeline Wood, and his own charge, Liberty Babe. Cedric Nelson checked in from Louisville with the Valley View Farm stables Super-wolf, Mannequin, Technicolor, Lady Bab-ette, Judy Dare, Born to Win, Matt Scarlet and Royal Born. Valley View Farm stable is maintained by J. M. Younghusband and the horses in Nelsons charge are quartered at Arlington Park. S. Bryant Ott sent word to general superintendent Tom Young that he will not transfer his stable to Hawthorne, but will send his horses direct to Arlington Park. Roy Slomer purchased the two-year-old Valley Trouble from C. R. Valentine at private terms. Harold C. Hoffman changed his plans for sending four horses to Omaha and will campaign at Arlington Park. Jockey Anthony Skoronski has been signed to handle John Marshs Preoccupy in the 1947 renewal of the Francis S. Pea-body Memorial Handicap. Ira Gawthorp, well-known owner and trainer, sent the three horses he has been campaigning here to Fairmount Park. E. Krai purchased Chicoutimi from Percy C. James at private terms and the juvenile has been turned over to B. C. Kelly for training. Eugene Smith, well-known Lexington, Ky., sportsman, is an arrival and he plans to remain for the balance of the Lincoln Fields meeting. C. R. Valentine, who has several horses stabled here, departed for Lexington, Ky., on a business trip. Valentine will return Monday. E. W. Kalensky arrived from the West Coast with six horses and bedded his charges down at Lincoln Fields. William Mikel purchased One Hook from Newman Jones and terms of the transaction were private. J. D. Mikel is to train One Hook. Joe Bollero, acting for the Joenace Stable, sold Bullmont to Thomas Calumet, and Bert Bagley will train the three-year-old gelding.
