Hard Facts Sets Own Pace To Capture Randall Event RANDALL PARK, North Randall, Ohio, May 24. Mrs. G. Dupays Hard Facts, who likes to set his own pace, did just that here this afternoon in the featured ,000 Cleveland News Handicap. But his margin of victory was a scant head over the hard-charging Bar Rock at the finish of the mile and one-sixteenth test, covered in 1:51 over a track classified as "slow." As second choice to Happy Guess, who wound up sixth in the eight-horse field, Hard Facts brought about a .20 pay-off. Third position went to Mike K., coupled with the successful f our year-old, for the Dupay interest. Many in the gathering of 11,000 fancied Hard Facts off his effort recently as runner-up to the highly-regarded South Dakota, and their acumen paid off. But in another "jump" it would have been Bar Rock. That one came from far off the winners pace and turned in a very commendable effort.
