Bills Introduced to Give State Larger Mutuel Take SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 24. Assemblyman Boyd, of Riverside County, has presented two racing bills here which would allow the state and the bettors to receive a larger "take" of the betting proceeds. The bills have been sent to the assembly floor, with passage recommended by the public morals committee. Presently the states tracks take 9 per cent of the first 0,000,000; 8 percent of the second 0,000,000 and 7 percent of all over that amount. Under Boyds first bill, the track would take 10 percent and the state 3 percent of the first 0,000,000; the track 9 and the state 4 per cent of the second 0,000,-000; the track 8 percent and the state 5 percent of the next ,000,000; the track 7 and the state 6 percent of the next ,000,-000; the track 6 and the state 7 percent of the next 0,000,000, and the track 5 percent and the state 8 percent of all over that amount. The bill also stipulates that the breakage go to the bettor. The alternate bill leaves the breakage with the track and gives the track 9 percent of the first 0,000,000; 8 percent of the second 0,000,000; 7 percent of the third 0,000,000; 6 percent of the next 0,000,-000 and 5 percent over that amount.
