Poellien; bred by Maurice S. Miller. WENT TO POST 5:271. OFF AT 5:28 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won easily; second and third driving. FERGIES MAID went into command early, established a clear lead before reaching the stretch, then drew out to win with something left. DIZZY HEIGHTS, a keen factor throughout, drifted out during the drive, could not menace the winner, but lasted to withstand WOODSMAN. The latter, never far back to the stretch, closed willingly under punishment. PURE BRIAR, sent to the inside for the drive, could not reach the leaders. CORYDON was away slowly. GIANT DRIFTtired. GAINER was outrun. GIN AND IT was far back throughout. WOBBLE PUMP gave way after racing prominently to the stretch. HICKORY JIM, in close quarters after the start, was taken up sharply, failed to recover thereafter and was eased during the late stages.
