The latter set the pace under light urging, responded to a drive and held on gamely to the end. LOMA MAR ROGUE, well up from the start, rallied in the late stages to threaten, then hung. MAGNESIUM moved into contention with a rush; came between horses for the drive, but was not good enough. MARCO B. GOOD, forwardly placed, flattened under pressure. HELPSWEEP, allowed to settle into best stride, moved close to the pace nearing the far turn, was taken under restraint, then finished gamely. MECHANIADOR was in close quarters on the inside. RIOTOUS REBEL weakened. SPLINTER moved around horses to race well entering the backstretch, was taken up sharply nearing the far turn and was not persevered with in the final furlong.
