Van Zandf Foresees Good Field for Williams Event Chipamink May Be Accompanied By Jezrahel in Fairmount Race FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., May 27. Fairmount Park racing secretary and handicapper, Henderson Van Zandt, upon his return from the Hipodromo de las Americas, in Mexico City, stated that he has an excellent field in prospect for the ,000 Ednyfed H. Williams Handicap, inaugural day feature nn Friday, May 30. Never in the history of the Fairmount Park Jockey Club has there been such an abundance of horses, with quality the predominating factor. Over 500 head are already stabled here, and a capacity of over 600 horses will be on hand with the beginning of the 32-day spring meeting, according to Arthur Eilerman, who is handling the stall reservations. Track superintendent John LeBlanc has the racing strip lightning fast, and many trainers have stated their intentions to enter their charges in the six-furlong E. Williams Handicap, which is named in honor of the Illinois State Racing Board chairman, who will be the guest of honor to witness this, the second running of the event. Expected in the line-up is the outstanding sprinter, Chipamink, who will be racing for the first time in the interest of his new owner, E. H. Moody. The Texas horseman-purchased the speedy son of Peanuts last winter at New Orleans from the Silver Star Stock Farm. Chipamink, if he goes postward, will almost certainly carry top weight with his stablemate, Jezrahel, who was also bought by Moody last winter from Tom H. Heard, Jr. Jezrahel two years ago was one of the top handicap sprinters in the country, but developed leg trouble which placed him on the sidelines until last winter at the Fair Grounds. In his few races there, he unfortunately displayed only a shade of his former speed and gameness. Other sprinters that are probable starters include James Holmans, Irish Wash, J. F. Becks Blue Mountain, G. M. Johns Coolite, Mr. and Mis. E. B. Shipps Tony G. and Pipeliner, Myrtle Maroon Stables Shuckins, Gordon Watkins Cudiddle, Rancho Oro de Auguas Indian Watch, and Felix J. De Marys Gold Regnant.
