MANKCUBOB assumed command at once, established a clear lead before reaching the stretch, then drew out to win as his rider pleased. GREENOCK IMAGE could not keep up early, bore in badly when roused for the drive and could not menace the winner, although easily best of the others. JANES ROSE finished determinedly under punishment. GOOD HUNTING held on well to the final furlong, then weakened. UNSHAKABLE failed to rally when roused for the drive. DEJURE was never a serious factor. MEMPHIAN, crowded back after the opening quarter, failed to recover. SHREWD QUEST gave way after engaging MANKCUBOB to the stretch. GALUMPH broke sluggishly. DIESEL SAND was done early. KING MALCOLM went to the front at once, shook off HELEN AGNES entering the stretch and, overcoming interference when LEIDA bore in, lasted to hold the latter safe. A claim of foul by LEIDAS rider was not allowed by the stewards. LEIDA, outrun early and on the outside to the stretch, swerved when punished in the drive, was bothered by KING MALCOLMS riders whip during the late stages and just missed. SKIP LEVEL, outrun to the final quarter, closed fast under punishment. PHANTOM SON, on the inside and in very close quarters early, came willingly when clear for the drive, but could not threaten the leaders. ABREK weakened after racing prominently to the final furlong. GREAT RIPPLE could not keep up after showing early speed. FAGRANNY was outrun AS BOLD was done after a half mile. Won easily; second and third driving, BETTY SKELLY went to the front early, responded readily when shaken up entering the stretch and retained her advantage without need of further urging. ALL BUSINESS, outrun to the stretch, closed willingly under punishment. LITTLE PRUNE raced evenly and had no mishap. ACE PILOT could not better his position when hard ridden through the stretch. DONNA SUE lacked early speed, but finished fast. TENOS engaged BETTY SKELLY to the last eighth, then weakened. VERY BRAVE was outrun. MUNSTER had a rough trip. CIVIL GIRL was done after a half mile. LUTIE JANE, on the outside ana outrun to the stretch, responded to strong handling in the drive and was up to dispose of CONFORMABLE in the last strides. CONFORMABLE improved her position steadily, reached the lead between calls near the finish, but could not hold the winner. TRACK ACE assumed command at once, made the pace to the last sixteenth, then faltered. SARGE BUD held on well in a good effort. ANTE LIGHT raced evenly without mishap. GRAND FELLOW failed to rally when roused for the stretch run. POLONIUS never was dangerous. STIPULATION could not keep up. LADY SEATON was far back throughout. A LA BUD began slowly. SH8WD0WN dropped back after the start, swerved repeatedly during the running and could not threaten the leaders. SWAY AGAIN assumed command early and made the pace to the stretch, then gave way. COOLING SPRING, slow to begin and outrun to the stretch, came to the outside for the drive and, responding to brisk urging, wore down the leaders in the last sixteenth to win going away. SUGAR LUMP, forwardly placed after the opening quarter, was bothered during the stretch run when BOSAGE went lame, came again when clear, but could not menace the winner. BREATH TAKER, in close quarters to the last three-eighths, finished fast under punishment. FOSS BARKER went to the front early, made the pace until near the finish, then faltered. BOSAGE was racing prominently in the stretch when she went lame and bothered SUGAR LUMP when she dropped back. SET IN had a rough trip. ATLANTIC CITY tired. OL1DOR, knocked back at the upper turn, failed to recover. MARTHARINE had early speed. SERGEANT BILL never was a serious factor. SASSY PATRICIA went to the front early, made the pace under good rating, held on willingly through the stretch, but could not hold COLEY BAY. CHERRY TRIFLE, slow to begin and outrun to the stretch, could not threaten the leaders when mildly urged in the drive. DEVILS ISLAND tired after racing prominently to the last eighth. BONNIE CHARLIE had no mishap. ROSE CANYON was outrun. STAR GRADUATE gave way after forcing the pace to the final quarter. CONFERENCE was done early.
