Donoso to Ride Phalanx And Arcaro, Khyber Pass BELMONT PARK, Elmont, N. Y., May 27. A slight drastic change in riders is contemplated for the Belmont Stakes on Saturday. Eddie Arcaro, who rode Phalanx for C. V. Whitney in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Withers, is to ride that owners Khyber Pass in the 00,000 stake, while Ruperto Donoso has been assigned to the stretch-running, but not stretch-running-enough Phalanx. Last year morning trials indicated that Khyber Pass was considerably faster than Phalanx, but the horse never seemed able to learn how to handle himself in races, though he did succeed in graduating before the season was over. Arcaro won Saturdays last race with Khyber Pass, after finishing third in the Peter Pan Handicap on Phalanx.
