Golden Man Returning To Action at Detroit Among Seven Sprinters Seeking Todays Featured Sabula Purse FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., May 28. Despite the absence of handicap stars from the line-up of tomorrows races at this point as the top-notchers remain on the sidelines for their engagements in the Memorial Day and Saturday headliners, racing secretary Charles F. Henry has been able to assemble a better-than-average program of eight races. The Sabula Purse has attracted seven good speedsters to contest a six-furlong dash as a feature, and this is well supported by the Antoine Purse, in which a similar number of handy three-year-olds will vie at the same distance. In addition to these worthy events, two-year-olds will be seen under silks for the first time at the meeting, when nine maiden fillies are engaged at five furlongs. Most of the entrants in the Sabula are facing the starter for the first time this .year, or have been lightly raced. George Krehbiels Golden Man had some of his early speed in his appearances this year at Churchill Downs and should have benefited by those efforts to reach peak shape. The hard-hitting and game son of Don Leon won five of 19 races last year, and will have the saddle services of Pat Milligan, who fits him well and for whom he runs kindly. He may be hard to catch. Teddy Reigh will represent Dixiana in the headliner. The son of Sun Teddy has been carefully prepped for a race like this by trainer Leonard Hale. He won three of nine races last year. W. E. MacDonalds Tulachmore displayed a fondness for this racing strip last year, when his campaign saw him first home three times in a dozen starts. Billy Bumps has been named by Markey and Bohn, and this son of Grand Slam can be dangerous when in top shape. H. Atkins Miss Fluff did not show much in her two engagements at Churchill Downs, but might improve by those efforts. Gris-som and Shermans Unconditional is another, who can do much better than his Kentucky races this year indicate. Detroit Stables Mr. Mel completes the field. His lone victory last year was accomplished in sloppy going, and there is every indication that the track will not be fast. The sophomores in the Antoine Purse are a very evenly matched lot. Miss Mary Fishers Joy Forever comes recommended by an excellent second at Keeneland. Mrs. E. H. Beezleys -Reward All left the West Coast with two consecutive victories to her credit. Grand Stables Shirt Band raced with good ones at Hialeah. Markey and Bonns Lady Mayflower has a trace of class that should serve her well against these opponents. T. D. Buhls Beau Fiddler was lightly raced at Gulfstream Park and should be fresh. M. J. B. Stables My Margie and Mrs. B. Hernandezs Gallant Foot complete the Antoine field.
