GALLANTRY, fastest away, had speed to open up a clear lead, met the bid of BALLACOLAS stubbornly and held on under pressure. BALLACOLAS was steadied closest to the pace of the winner, responded well when roused on the stretch turn and finished strongly under hard urging. SONNY HAYNES raced evenly and forwardly, but " could not threaten the first two. K. COOKIE was unable to engage the leaders, but finished gamely under punishment on the inside. ARAL was unable to enter serious contention. TOUCH OF TIME could not engage the leaders and weakened. SUN TANNERY was away slowly and did not enter contention. VELVET HEELS, well ridden, had speed to race with the leaders on the inside, was unhurried when challenged on the turn, saved ground and drew out when roused. NEAT AND TIDY had speed to take a short lead, swung slightly wide entering the stretch gave way to the winner, but held on stubbornly. PETROSE GIRL had speed to race with the pace on the outside, but weakened under pressure. LUCKY B. trailed early, moved into closer contention on the inside through the early stretch, but could not reach the leaders. ELIZA JANE was unable to improve her position. POTSEY flashed early speed on the outside, but dropped back quickly. HAPPY INDIAN showed nothing. NITE CRIES was done early. Scratched 02401 Prominencia, 103. FANNIE MAC had speed to race with the pace from the beginning, saved ground on the rail all the way, disposed of FLICK in the stretch, then held BLACK DRAGON safe. The latter was forwardly placed from the beginning, was taken to the outside in the stretch and finished stoutly. FLICK, fastest away, had speed to take a short lead, but flattened out in the stretch. KAMPS TEDDY was unable to engage the leaders. BELLA HUMBOLDT had early speed, but could not keep up. SHE DIDNT, much the best, had speed to outrun the field, was steadied in front while taken slightly wide for the better footing and drew out to win easily. SEALANE lacked early speed, secured room on the inside entering the stretch, moved up quickly, but could not threaten the winner. TRIBAL II. was steadied back of the leaders, moved up threateningly on the inside entering the stretch, but hung. BEN GRAY, forced to race on the outside when unable to outrun the leaders, was not dangerous. SIRA MOU passed tired horses. PIE MAN had speed to the stretch and flattened out. MISS MILITANT was rushed into contention at onqe, was sent into a short lead, saved ground and just lasted to hold HIGH SPIRITS. The latter had good speed to take a short lead on the backstretch, was steadied when the winner took command, then came on in the stretch on the outside and was wearing the winner down. INEDITO, a forward factor from the beginning, was sent through on the inside in the stretch, but could not engage the leaders. YOUNG BUDDY raced evenly, but could not threaten. DOUG CRATE had some early speed while on the outside, but weakened. STRIDE WELL showed nothing. ROTAMAL was outrun. DICKS GAL was hustled to the front at once, was steadied in the lead, saved ground, but was bothered when PERE MARKETTE bore in on her through the stretch, then came on under strong handling. PERE MARKETTE raced closest to the winner from the beginning, drove up on the outside in the stretch, bore in, bothered DICKS GAL, took a short lead between calls, but just failed to last SWEEPNITO broke well, but lacked speed to keep up, then made up some ground in the stretch BOLD QUESTION raced evenly and forwardly on the outside, but weakened. LASTING PEACE flashed early speed, but quit. BUILDER, shut off when attempting to go through on the inside on the far turn, was in close quarters again in the stretch. MILITARY SIR was steadied closest to the early pace, challenged ROBINS PET stoutly on the outside on the final turn, then weakened. MY EMPIRE raced evenly but was unable to improve her position. SUN UMBER, forwardly placed early, while on the outside, lost ground on the tum, then came on again near the end. DRISCOLL was sent to the front and steadied there, but weakened in the final quarter. SEAPAR lacked early speed and passed tiring horses. PIPLAD had speed to the stretch, but flattened out. ANNE AGAIN was never prominent.
