. 5 r , - t 1 2 5 - i Dufferin Park and Long Branch Meetings to Run as Scheduled TORONTO, Ontario, May 28. F. S. Orpen announced today that the spring meetings at Dufferin Park and Long Branch would operate according to the original schedule as set forth by the ICRA. The announcement followed Tuesday nights meeting of the Canadian division, Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association, at which members voted to reject a proposal submitted by Orpen that 14 days of racing be held at Dufferin Park. Orpen and his directors will meet the request of the HBPA for minimum purses of ,350 at both meetings. The same minimum was paid at the recently concluded Woodbine meeting and is being paid at the current Thorncliffe Park meeting. HBPA members have already requested the Hamilton Jockey Club to maintain the same minimum as the Toronto tracks, while associations conducting meetings at Fore Erie and Niagara Falls will be asked to pay a minimum purse of ,200.
