Ocean Front Overtakes Camargo in Stretch Run Nips Favorite by Nose Margin Near Wire in Delaware Event DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., May 31. — Mrs. H. K. Hickeys Ocean Front, absent from the winners circle since the 1948 Delaware Park session, returned to his home grounds for this afternoons engagement in the featured Caesar Rodney Purse and earned a nose decision over Christiana Stables Camargo. Third in the five-horse field was Dion K. Kerr, Jr.s, Flying Weather. Ideal weather prevailed for the "off day" program, but the most generous estimates on the attendance could not exceed the 7,500 figure. Ocean Front was smartly handled by apprentice Ben Civitello and was second choice in the wagering at .50. Flying Weather assumed pacemaking duties immediately and sprinted, into a long lead. Camargo was rated along in second position, with Ocean Front just behind her. It was on the final bend that both Camargo and Ocean Front began to close in on Flying Weather. The two moved together, with Camargo saving ground, while Ocean Front was lapped on the outside of the mare. Camargo assumed the lead at the furlong pole and held an advantage of a half length near the sixteenth pole. The battle for top money sent the top pair four lengths to the fore of Flying Weather, who faded badly in the home lane.
