SHY GUY, in hand while saving ground and racing nearest PAPA REDBIRD to the stretch, assumed command when the latter faltered and, responding readily when shaken up, drew clear and won with something left. LOVE SONNET, reserved and kept in a good position until reaching the stretch, was sent outside slightly for the drive, but could not menace the winner. TURBINE raced evenly throughout in a good effort. PELLICLE, away slowly and outrun to the last three-eighths of a mile, could not get to the leaders under hard riding through the stretch. PAPA REDBIRD went to the front with a rush, established a long lead, held command until reaching the stretch, then gave way. CHILDERIC was never prominent. SIR SPRITE was far back throughout and had no excuse. AIR SAILOR had brief speed, but failed to stay. Scratched— 752964 Seven League, 110. SEVENTH RACE 1 1-8 MILES. Col. MISS OBEHAN, going in improved form, assumed command after three-eighths of a mile, opened up a clear lead and retained the advantage without need of urging. ORISKANY, in hand to the final quarter of a mile, finished willingly under punishment, but could not menace the winner although easily best of the others. THE BAGEL took command at once, gave way to the winner and, losing ground steadily thereafter, lasted to finish in a dead-heat with MY EMPIRE for third. MY EMPIRE, outrun to the stretch, closed well enough to finish on equal terms with THE BAGEL for third honors. JUDGE O. was outrun. GILDED TRUMP tired. LAYOUT began sluggishly and raced wide. CHOCK ABLOCK, outrun to the upper turn, was sent around horses while improving his position to the stretch, then, responding when set down in the drive, wore down the leaders and won going away. WOW, much used racing LITTLE STICK ihto defeat, held a clear lead when settled in the stretch, but could not withstand the winner. PINK DEVIL, in close quarters during the drive, could not better her position LITTLE STICK engaged WOW to the final furlong, then weakened. HICKORY KNOT, caught between horses and eased back leaving the upper turn, failed to recover. GOTHIC was outrun. MANEEN could not keep up. BIG AFFAIR had early speed, but failed to stay.
