GOOD COPY, well back in the first half mile, began improving his position thereafter, stole through on the inside when the leader bore out and, closing with a good rush, won going away at the end. MARY BARR, close to the leaders from the beginning, closed gamely, but was no match for the winner. POI took command soon after the start, piled up a big lead during the first six furlongs, but ran out badly after rounding the stretch turn, then finished far beyond the middle of the track. WARY FLIGHT held a prominent position from the start and had no excuse. DESERT GOLD had no mishap. ZACAPLAY quit after goinq well for a half mile.
