Calumet Stars Head Nomination Lists For First Three Arlington Park Stakes Re-Armed Tops Hyde Park, Wistful, Princess Doreen And Coaltown, Equipoise ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, 111., June 15. — That the Arlington Park Jockey Club, which begins it coordinated meeting with Washington Park, here next Monday, will lure a number of the leading horses of the country was clearly indicated when racing secretary and handicapper Frank E. "Jimmy" Kilroe announced the nominations for the first three stakes of the session this afternoon. The events include the 0,000 Hyde Park Stakes, a five and one-half furlongs dash fashioned exclusively for two-year-olds that will feature the opening program; the 0,000 Princess Doreen Stakes, a. six-furlong dash for three-year-old fillies, slated to headline the bill on the following Wednesday, and the 5,000 added Equipoise Mile, a run of one mile for three-year-olds and upward, slated for the initial Saturday of the stakes-studded session that is being directed by the astute executive, Benjamin F. Lindheimer. The Hyde Park is expected to lure both j Duchess Peg and Re-Armed, a pair of fancy stepping two-year-olds from the Calumet Farm. Duchess Peg has been here for some time, training under ihe ► watchful eye of Ben Jones, while Re-Armed, a full brother to the worlds leading money-winning gelding, Armed, was a recent arrival from Belmont Park, where he had been trained by H. A. "Jimmy" Jones. Both of the Joneses ai*e of the belief that they have one of the finest crops of juveniles of recent, years, with Re-Armed presently being the most highly regarded. The colt won his lone start at Belmont in impressive style and has trained smartly since. Duchess Peg, an extremely fast beginner, won her initial start of the year at Churchill Downs by six lengths and later in the Debutante Stakes at the same track, was well in front until she tired and finished third. Main contenders against the Calumet duo appear to be Curtice and Feudin Fightin, both owned by Mrs. Emil Dene-mark. Feudin Fightin was the surprise winner of the Joliet Stakes during the Lincoln-at-Washington meeting, but trainer Bob McGarvey insists that Curtice, who was third in the same event, is the better of the two. The Princess Doreen, also is headed by a Calumet representative. The extremely fast Wistful, who already has a stranglehold on three-year-old filly honors by virtue of her recent brilliant victories in classic events for those of her division.
