GRANDCIAD, never far back, assumed command entering the stretch, drifted out during the drive but lasted, then was disqualified and placed second when her rider interefered with BIG DITCH during the final furlong. BIG DITCH, a keen factor from the start, was sent to the outside of GRANDCIAD entering the stretch, then was unable to pass the latter when jockey Cook, astride GRANDCIAD, held to jockey Barrows boot during the drive. RICHWOOD BOY, on the outside throughout, could not menace the leaders when hard ridden throuah the stretch. SPRING FIESTA began fast but could not keep up. MISS NELEEN failed to stay after showing early speed. MARKSMAN tired during the stretch run. APPLEJACK JAKE did not like the good track. WESTY STREAK never was dangerous. SULTY, a keen factor from the outset, raced nearest SQUINT to the final furlong, responded to strong handling and disposed of the latter during the last sixteenth. SQUINT went to the front at the start, made the pace until nearing the finish, but could not hold the winner, although much the best of the others. JOES ACE, forced wide enering the stretch, was unable to menace the leaders when straight for the drive. LAREDO lacked early speed and raced wide to the stretch. LUCKY AL could not keep up. RECORD HIGH had no excuse. DEVILS BREATH was outrun. ANNIE OAKLEY, on the outside throughout, could not keep up after showing early speed. LA BONANZA showed nothing. DUCK BERRY, never far back, bore out badly after entering the stretch and could not threaten the winner MACHAIRAN began fast, but could not keep up after the start. PROM TROTTER tired after showing early speed. PERE MARKETTE made a mild bid entering the stretch, then weakened. LADY LUREEN was through early. BYJA COPO had early speed. BULLY BOY, away alertly and a forward factor from the start, assumed command entering the stretch and increased the advantage thereafter without the need of urging. BENNINGTON raced evenly to the stretch, saved ground at the final turn, but was unable * to threaten the winner. KOPES TOY finished well under punishment. LUSTY failed to rally when hard ridden through the stretch. ALL IS ON went to the front early, made the pace to the stretch while engaging BULLY BOY but had nothin gleft for the drive. RENO UPTART, in hand to the stretch, reached the lead between calls near the finish but could not hold the winner. SANTA CLAUS went to the front when settled for the drive, but faltered during the last sixteenth. EMPUJON lacked early speed. THE BAGEL assumed command early, made the pace to the stretch, then weakened. FOURTH DEGREE tired after racing prominently to the stretch. GOTANOTION could not keep up. CASTEL BEAU, never far back, failed to rally when set down in the drive. LOVE SONNET tired after displaying early speed. BOY-PLIN was outrun.
