Reduce State Revenue Amount Desired in California Bill SACRAMENTO, Calif., June 15.— At the request of its author, Senator Collier, the State Senate yesterday adopted an amendment to the pending bill designed to secure for the state another ,000,000 annual revenue from race tracks. Under the amendment, the increase to the state would be reduced to ,200,000. Senator Collier stated that the state finance department has expressed the opinion that even this reduced addition to the "take" would be a hardship on the race tracks affected. While the Collier Bill -applies in theory to all race tracks in the state, its effects would be felt practically only by Santa Anita and Hollywood Park, since the bulk of the increased revenue would have to come from these two tracks. Another bill proposing to increase the membership of the California Horse "Racing Board to five from the present three was introduced yesterday by Senator Harry L. Parkman, author of the pending bill which proposes to re-define the phrase "public interest" in deciding whether or not to grant licenses to race tracks. This new move, it is already charged, is also motivated by the drive to license a new track in Los Angeles County. Parkmans latest bill would reconstitute the Horse Racing Board to consist of two members from Southern California, a like number from northern California- and one from the state at large.
