Monmouth Parks Annual Meet to Open Tomorrow Fifteen Stakes Will Be Offered; Post Time at 2:30 P. M. Daily MONMOUTH .PARK, Mays Landing, N. J., June 15.— The fourth annual meeting of the Monmouth Park Jockey Club will open on Friday and continue for 47 days. Optimism prevails in the area and radiated from the echelons down to the stable attaches on the backstretch. The stake program is an auspicious one, 15 offerings being on the agenda, topped by the Monmouth Handicap at one and one-quarter miles for three-year-olds and upward. This event carries an endowment of 5,000 and is expected to lue the top performers of that classification. The Monmouth will be contested on Saturday, July 23, on which date this modern racing ground will have no opposition from Delaware Park. The New York racing scene on that date will be Saratoga-at-Jamaica and one of the time-honored fixtures of that meeting will not be on the afternoons program for horses of that age and caliber. The Monmouth Handicap will have the field to itself and a study of the nominations reveals that should at least 10 or 12 of those nominated start the race should develop into a sterling contest. For the opening day an allowance race is down for decision, the Kingston for three-year-olds at six furlongs. This race carries a purse value of ,000 and allowances are granted to non-winners of certain sums earned in other than claiming races. The Kingston should attract a field of 10 or more and among the potential starters are the Grandview Stables Razzmatazz, Joseph Roeblings Harbourton, George D. Wideners Marabout, William J. Zieglers Entrust, James Cox Bradys Third Ace, John Manfusos Alluring, Fighting Fan, owned by W. J. Walden, and H. W. Finchers Air Attack. The Kingston is looked upon as a test for the more fashionable Select Handicap at six furlongs to be run on Saturday, June 25. This event carries an added value of 0,000 and is certain to attract the best of that age in training in this neighborhood. In addition, shipments from Delaware Park and New York are anticipated. Supporting the Kingston are a series of claiming and allowance races plus a dash for maiden fillies at five furlongs. Sprinters hold the best hand for five of the overnight races are for this classification. The allowance races are at six furlongs and one mile and one-sixteenth for four-year-olds and over. Edward Brennan, general manager of Monmouth, and John Turner, racing secre- tary, in discussing the general outlook predicted that there will be no dearth of horses. At the present time a count of 450 is on file and to this number within the next few days will be added numerous others from other nearby racing grounds. Post time for the first race is-2: 30 P.
