Illinois Notes LINCOLN FIELDS at Washington Park, Homewood, 111., June 15. Eight horses owned by the combined interests of B. Endovina and F. Kontos were taken over today by trainer William Cay-wood. The string includes the well regarded three-year-old Cacomo. Caywood succeeds as conditioner, A. R. Williams. Reid Luginbuel, who annually campaigns a contingent of his horses on this circuit, arrived from his home in Vinita, Okla., today. Bennet Creech is conditioning the Luginbuel strings f i Big and Belgrins, two mares recently purchased by W. A. Mikel, were sent today to Carlock, HI., and will be bred this season to Hypocrite, according to trainer J. D. Mikel, who maintains the breeding farm in partnership with his son. Mrs. Harry K. Belk, wife of the owner and trainer, arrived here for an extended visit from Phoenix, Ariz. Jockey Joe Cavens is a recent arrival from Boston, Mass. Cavens plans to begin riding at the Arlington Park session, which gets under way next Monday. Busy Pony and Frankie D., owned by Ben Fogelson, arrived here today from Ak-Sar-Ben and were turned over to A. E. Mettz to condition. T. P. "Peaches" Fleming checked in from his home in Dallas, Texas. Fleming, who is vacationing at present, is well known on this circuit, having trained for several large stables in recent seasons. Edward P. Rodriguez, owner of the three-year-old Fighting Louie, named for Louie Meen, a member of the Daily Racing Form chart crew at this track, arrived from his home in New Orleans, La., and plans a stay of a few weeks. April Moon, the p±,erty of E. D. Gran-holm, has been sent to Gallatin, Tenn., to be turned out for the summer, it was revealed by trainer E. H. J. Shaw. Carl Blair, who trains a contingent of horses for Mrs. Gilbert H. Emick, reported sending Hollyman to a farm near Kansas City, Kans., to be rested during the summer months. M. C. Simone has taken, over the conditioning duties of T. F. Muldowneys Credentials, Impatience and Miss Virgie. Apprentice Leslie Wickel has ridden 18 winners thus far in his career and has but two more saddle victories entitling him to the seven -pound apprentice allowance. Thereafter he will be granted the five-pound "bug" until one year from the date of his first winner. Cliff Porter, who for a number of years was a successful trainer on this circuit, arrived from his home in Lexington, Ky., and plans to vacation here for several weeks. Jockey Larry Grubb, who was shaken up and bruised when he figured in the mishap here on Friday along with jockeys Angel D. Rivera and Andy LoTurco, resumed riding on todays card. - Son of Judith, owned by the Windsor Farm* was shipped here by trainer Moody Jolley from the Detroit Fair Grounds. The two-year-old son of Sun Again was added to the string O. L. Hopper has here for the Windsor Farm. Trainer Johnny Leyland, who is visiting relatives living in Chicago, was among the spectators at the track today. Leyland usually spends the summer months at tracks in Maryland and New Jersey. Racing secretary and handicapper Larry Bogenschutz plans to return to his home in Cincinnati, Ohio, when this meeting ends on Saturday. Bogenschutz will make his appearance at this point again when Hawthorne Park opens later during the season. Mike Ryan, an attache of the secretarys office, was admitted to Michael Reese Hospital, in Chicago, when he became suddenly ill after the eighth race Tuesday. Trainer C. F. Cherry brought in Mrs. Sayde Smiths Best Trick today from River Downs. Trainer V. J. Sovinski today purchased for his own interest, Chillee Knight from A. F. McCoy at private terms. Trainer E. C. Dobson reported this morning that W. M. Peaveys Jett-Jett will be on the sidelines for about a month because of a sprained tendon in his right foreleg.
