Sir White Tries for His Third Ak-Sar-Ben Score VanBerg Star Heads Field of Nine Middle Distance Runners AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., June 15.— Marion H. YanBergs Sir White, strapping five-year-old gelded progeny of Marching Sir — Genie White, who has accounted tor the Ak-Sar-Ben Princess and the His Majestys Council Handicaps in his only two appearance here, heads a field of nine formidable middlerdistance performers I who are slated to measure strides in the ,500 Corn Husker Handicap, nominal feature on tomorrows twilight program at this well-appointed Omaha course Under his modest top impost of 115 pounds the VanBerg colorbearer appears highly ca- pable of registering his third consecutive success and is certain to rule the post time favorite. Equally burdened at 113 pounds for the afternoons attraction are James T. Nis-sings Silver Fire and Carl Craigs Teddy-sun, winners of the second division of the Inaugural, and the Man o* War Handicaps, respectively. Rorick and Lanes consistent Dad, who was recently acquired by his present owners from the Illinois sportsman, William Hal Bishop, has been assigned 112, whereas Cross and Barring-tons improved Discombobulate will be asked to shoulder 110. Comprising the remainder of the group are J. J. Arps Foxy No Mark, 108; L. C. Blacks Reddy Boy, 108; Wayne and Melvin Stubbs Nebraska Cash, 105, and H. L. Bakers French Navy, 104. Both of Sir Whites triumphs have been at the six-furlong distance., but the manner in which he has drawn away from his contenders through the final stages would seem to indicate that he will favor the one mile and one-sixteenth distance of the Corn Husker, Victor Bovine, who was up in both races, departed, recently for the West Coast, and, as yet, another pilot has not been named. Silver Fire, topweighted in Saturdays Man o War Handicap, could do no better than third behind Teddysun and Discombobulate in the week-end head-, liner, but should have benefited greatly from that effort. Discombobulate has displayed improvement in each of his efforts here coming from the claiming to the handicap division. Teddysun gained considerable prestige in his latest victory and, will probably offer the most stern competition to Sir White. Under their respective lighter weights any of the others could score their first major success of the meeting, but would have to come forth with their "Sunday" best to do so.
