JOAN ANNE K., in hand to the last three-eighths mile, assumed command entering the stretch and drew clear, winning with something left. GINNAS WAR, a keen factor from the start, held on well, but was no match for the winner. BESTOVER went to the front at once, made the pace to the stretch, then tired, but lasted to dead-heat SULTY for third. SULTY raced well to the upper turn, drifted -out while tiring, but finished on equal terms with BESTOVER. HOLLY MAC disliked the heavy track and was never dangerous. RAY COUNT MISS saved ground when outrun to the last three-eighths mile, remained next to the inner rail for the stretch run and, aft,er taking command, won going away. PLAY REQUEST went to the front early, made the pace until inside the stretch, but was unable to hold the winner. HIDDEN MOTIVE, never far back, bore to the inside during the drive and, after bothering PLAY REQUEST, failed to recover. LYLES FIRST saved ground from the beginning, made a good bid nearing the stretch, but failed to rally for the drive. BALMORAL lacked early speed. PENNWOVEN began fast, but dropped back immediately after the start. FOURTEEN GRAND was never a serious contender. JUST A FOOT could not keep up. FAR SON disliked the heavy track and tired after displaying brief speed.
