SAFE BET rallied mildly after seven furlongs, then tired. TOM FERRIS, had no mishap. SKEIN went evenly. FARM MAID, a forward factor, failed to respond when set down. OPINIONATED showed nothing. COOKIE BABY kept out in the middle of the track, was forced to lose ground on the turns, but was good enough to overtake LEFTY JIM in the final yards. LEFTY JIM forced the pace under light restraint, gained a slight advantage inside the final sixteenth, but was not good enough. DEBMODE challenged between horses in the stretch and held on gamely. SWEEPING JO closed with good energy along the inside. NASSAU, outrun to the final furlong, was going fastest of all at the end. GOOD EGG faltered after five furlongs. RAPT had no mishap. ANNAR closed willingly. GERHAM was shuffled back early. DOIT EASY weakened. SUNSHADE, outrun to the final quarter mile, was unable to obtain racing room along the inside. FLAMING ACRES quit. JIMMYS FIRST drew clear soon after the start, saved ground on the turns and withstood a sustained drive from LITTLE PEEP. The latter drew in closest attendance of the leader after a quarter mile and was pressing to the end. GIFTED BOOTS broke alertly, was unable to stay with the pace, rallied in the stretch and closed with good energy. ASSIMILATE moved with good speed on the final turn, then went evenly. BRAVADO showed an even effort. ELSAS PAL had no mishap. MR. F. weakened. MISS COLEY lacked early speed. GOLD CHAMP flashed brief speed. LIVELETLIVE faltered. CON MERCHANT showed speed for three furlongs, gave way, came again when roused, but was not good enough. SAILING HIGH showed nothing. WOLFCAMP went along with SO WELL for the lead, remained in along the rail, gained clear advantage entering the stretch, but had nothing left. SO WELL weakened after five furlongs.
