Eternal Road Along in Time To Nose Out Mary Like DETROIT, Mich., May 26. Eternal Road, a member of the Mrs. D. R. Sena stable, drove to a well-deserved victory here today in the three-quarters mile second race, defeating iO other useful sprinters. Responding to a brisk drive during the stretch run under jockey Arthur Stone, the Sena stallion was along in the last strides to take a nose verdict from Jerry McCarthy Stables Mary Like, who led until near the wire. Just a nose away, Myron Smiths Heres Ed ran third, a length and one-half before Arlington farms Royal Luck, who salvaged fourth money. Eternal Road was the 19 to 10 favorite with the crowd of 10,000 on hand this pleasant afternoon and raced the three-quarters mile through the decidedly heavy and difficult track in 1:18. The Sena representative, winner of his previous engagement at Gulfstream Park, handled the off going in game style. Coupled in the daily double pool with Nicotine Gal, victress in the initial offering, Eternal Road returned 9.80 in the special pool.
