Nine Seek Lincolns Dark Sea Purse Isomur, Shane Vie With White Brand Each of Trio Has Accounted For One Victory at Current Meet Being Run at Hawthorne HAWTHORNE, Cicero, 111., May 26. Three fillies and six colts, all three years of age, are slated to start inthe Dark Sea Purse, which will be the top attraction on the fourteenth .day of the Lincoln Fields meeting tomorrow. The distance will be six furlongs, and Carmody Vanscoys Isomur, one of the distaff members of the field, has a victory to her credit at this meeting, she having finished in front on a muddy track the fourth day of the session. William Hal Bishops White Brand and Everett Lowrances Shane have also been first under the wire here. Isomurs success came at one and one-sixteenth miles, when, going postward as an outsider, she trimmed Some Lord by about one length, while the favored Seasoned was third. White Brands success was accomplished at six furlongs when he triumphed over Shane, but the latter came right back to run a smashing "race and be victorious after having been away from the starting gate rather poorly. Shane has won three races this year. He is a black son of Ocean Wave and seems to like an "off" track. Others Slated to Compete The balance of the field for the Dark Sea consists of Mrs. L. C. Molays Katama, O. H. Pohlmans Some Lord, William Offermans Vantage, O. and A. Spitzers Ni-koh Baby, Mrs. Elizabeth Brisbines Star Wish, and N. G. Bouchards First Verse. Katama, who will carry 113 pounds, was unplaced in, her only start at this meeting, but previous to that the daughter of Half Crown had won two of her three starts, and was a galloping victress on each occasion. She was second to Liebeskind at Churchill Downs in her first start of the year. Nikoh Baby was unplaced in his last race here but in his previous endeavor ran third behind the greatly improved Dance Nsing and Princess Ann. Some Lord was a winner in Florida early in the year and was twice claimed during the Gulfstream Park meeting. He will have Kenneth Church as his pilot in tomorrows feature. Vantage was a winner at Gulfstream on March 27 and changed hands for an ,000 claiming price. He has been in the money a couple of times since, but was unplaced in his last race, which was won by Dance Nsing, A Peabody Memorial eligible. Quite some difficulty was experienced in filling the races for Tuesday. Tlie racing strip was very heavy, and horsemen seemed reluctant to name their charges until they had some assurance from the weatherman that the track might be in better condition. However, as the sun continued to shine bright they gradually submitted the names of enough racers to make up a fairly good program.
