TURF BULL made the pace while on the extreme outside and maintained a safe advantage under punishment. SPAHI raced forwardly placed while on the rail and held on gamely, but could not menace the top one. CORRECTION was a sharp factor throughout and showed a good effort. CLEAR PATH was outrun. PRINCE TIP failed to threaten. CROSSCUT trailed. YEOMAN, A SCHEDULED STARTER, UNSEATED HIS RIDER DURING THE POST PARADE AND RAN OFF FIVE FURLONGS, THEN WAS SCRATCHED AND ALL WAGES ON HIM WERE REFUNDED. SYRACUSE LAD, repeatedly put to pressure from shortly after the start to maintain command, oufgamed BYNG in the finish run. The latter, never far back under good restraint, went upt on "the outside to challenge boldly, but was not good enough. JOSEPH BRANT saved ground while well placed, swung from the inside and tried to go between the leaders, but was blocked nearing the final obstacle, then came again when clear on the inside. SALEMAKER had no excuse. QUIET, allowed to drop far back early, closed with a belated rush. MASTER MARINER, tired after racing forwardly placed until the seventh hurdle. TOTO, never far back while being reserved, moved up on the outside and was forced wide leaving the turn, then was gradually getting to the winner. BUSANDA made the pace until midway of the turn, where she began to drift out, continued to go wide and sulked when punished leaving the turn, then gave way. WHITHER was slow to gain best stride. MASTER FIDDLE went by tired horses. JET A DANDY went well for a half mile and gave way, as did DUSTY DARLIN.
