Spartan Valor to Pass Up Suburban Engagement GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 26. Trainer Frank Catrone this morning announced that William G. Helis Jr.s Spartan Valor would not be a starter next Saturday in the Suburban at Belmont Park. Catrone stated that he believed handicapper John B. Campbell treated Spartan Valor fairly with his assignment of 132 pounds, but he has not had "Sparty" in training since his victory here in the Valley Forge Handicap. During his easy romp in that fixture, Spartan Valor ran down behind and bruised and cuffed himself. Nothing serious has developed, but Catrone is allowing ample time for healing, with the next objective set as the rich stakes during the Washington-Arlington Park meetings.
