River Downs Plans 25 Minutes Between Races To Prevail for Week-Day Cards; Take 30 for Saturdays, Holidays CINCINNATI, Ohio, May 26. -River Downs mutuel manager George Reverman today . announced that all week-day races would be run at 25 -minute intervals, while Saturdays and holidays will require 30 minutes in order to give fans ample time tc obtain their "tote" tickets. Post time will be 2:30 p. m. daily. Reverman was highly pleased with the new "tote" system and plans to have a full-dress rehearsal Wednesday with more than 200 employes participating. Robert J. Dienst came down from his Columbus home to go over the final details for the opening with racing director Henry Green. Both anticipate a record-breaking opener Memorial Day, when 44 days of racing will be ushered in at the popular mile oval. Racing secretary Gene Bury arrived in the Queen City Wednesday and stated that he anticipates very little trouble filling the daily programs with the best brand of thoroughbreds seen here in many years. Steward Monte Weil and William Hines. chief assistant to Reverman, came down from Columbus for the River Downs party and both will be on hand for the River Downs opener.
