BELLANOCH, outrun early and racing wide into the stretch, responded with a rush when settled for the drive and disposed of NIFTY in the last strides. NIFTY went to the front early, established a clear lead entering the stretch and held on willingly, but was unable to withstand the winner. JOFOURTH raced evenly to the stretch, then closed srongly when set down in the drive. FLORIZAN SAM lacked early speed, but made up ground during the last quarter mile. KIBBY F faltered during the stretch run. PIXEY SAL made a good bid in the early stretch, but weakened when nearing the finish. MUCH PLEASURE was nver dangerous. GOLDEN GESTURE failed to stay after showing early speed. B0XIE began fast, raced well to the stretch, then gave way. ROYAL CHANCE engaged NIFTY for a half mile, then quit. BIDANDMADE, never far back, responded to punishment during the stretch run and. after disposing of the leaders, held PHANTOM HEELS safe. PHANTOM HEELS raced evenly to the stretch, then finished fast under punishment, but could not overtake the top one. SIR COBO lacked early speed, but finished fast under brisk urging. CARAMBA made up ground during the drive. STAGGER HOME, never far back, established a clear lead when settled in the stretch, then gave way. PADDY LANE was outrun. NINE BELLS went to the front early, made the pace to the stretch, then , quit MISS M0NTSIN had early speed. LITTLE XS began fast, but failed to stay. PEGNPAT assumed command at once, entered the stretch with a clear lead and swerved when ridden out to increase her advantage. SLIPPY raced nearest PEGNPAT from the beginning, finished willingly, but could not reach the top one, although much the best of the others. RAMJET lacked early speed. DISICAL MISS was outrun and had no mishap. NANCY BAYNE had no excuse. STELLAR NORMA showed nothing. LADY ADMIRAL could not keep up. ATHAPASCAN was never dangerous. THE GLOBE steadily worked way forward, assumed command after entering the stretch, then held on gamely under punishment to withstand HEXTON. The latter saved ground while improving position to the stretch, finished strongly under brisk handling, but could not overtake the winner. HARBOURTON went to the front after disposing of COUNT STEEL, raced well to the stretch, but went lame during the drive and could not hold his advantage. BENDANEAR lacked early speed. COUNT STEEL gave way after racing prominently to the stretch. MESCARA could not keep up. WHITE BLAZE showed nothing. TRANCER was through early. Scratched— 57993 Magnus, 114; 59537 Kaslick, 114. BEE LEE TEE, a sharp factor from the start, was in close quarters during the drive, but finished strongly. WILL YOU DANCE lacked early foot, was crowded slightly during the final furlong and could not overtake the leaders. WILL YOU DANCE riders claim of foul against AIR FLIGHT and BEE LEE TEE was not allowed by the stewards. TRAVELER went to the front before going a quarter mile, made the pace to the last . eighth, then weakened. BADGER engaged TRAVELER until inside the stretch, but had nothing left for the drive.
