COURONNE began sluggishly, as usual, entered contention after reaching the backstretch and steadily wore down the leaders in the drive to win going away. SPERANZO never was far back, raced to the, pace under strong urging on the final turn and then did not have enough left to hold the winner. HOPEFUL SUE was rated while contending for the lead, shook off SUZE SIN and opened a clear lead when ready, but tired while in the deepest going next to the rail in the stretch run. BLOOMING LIRE did not seriously threaten. MISSELECT tired. SUZE SIN had speed for a half mile and quit. NEROS MERMAID was a sharp contender, wore down LITTLE SNOW rounding into the stretch and, after establishing a clear lead, held QUARTERMASTER safe. The latter raced in company with the winner from the outside, lacked her rally at the head of the stretch, but was gradually gaining at the end. BLESSUSGALS lacked speed away from the gate, was rushed into contention and then lacked an effective raHy. LITTLE SNOW had the most speed and held a clear lead for a half mile, then suddenly faltered. ALWAYS ARGUE made up some distance while racing on the outside. BLACK LADY raced evenly. NINETY DEGREES, showing vast improvement, broke alertly and shook off contention to dash into a long lead entering the far turn, then increased his advantage to win with speed in reserve. FREDDIE FISH lacked early speed, came around horses on the stretch turn and finished gamely to best PRESS K. The latter saved ground to reach contention early and held on fairly well. SEASCAPE worked into closer contention racing between horses. YOULL DO circled wide improving position in the late stages. BARTHS-BELLE faltered. FEN FIRE began poorly. BAKERSFIELD was under urging while in closest attendance to the winner, could not seriously menace and, although weakening, clearly bested JACK THE GREAT. The latter was hustled forwardly after the start, made a mild bid on the final turn, but was in the deepest going next to the rail and tired fili-w NTERN was taken "P a* the start, then bested tiring horses. FLINT NIGHT sprinted into command early, swung wide for the best footing entering the stretch and appeared safely in front, then failed to respond when called on to stave off the winner. COLIN DID was a sharp factor, but tired. BEE ARR was taken back from between horses going to the far turn and was not prominent thereafter. GREY HOUR faltered. SHERRY was rated while holding a commanding lead, responded gamely when challenged by MARSE GEORGE in the stretch run, but could not hold the winner. MARSE GEORGE steadily made up ground on the inside, loomed boldly in the drive and hung. LOCKS faltered when put to pressure. PICTURE CARD could not reach the front and faltered.
