Accent on Fair Sex First Day at Narragansett Park Ladies Admission Reduced and First 500 Will Receive Corsage PAWTUCKET, R. I., June 24.— Narragansett Park, already assured some of the best campaigners in its history, is ready for what promises to be a bumper crowd when the 24-day summer meeting gets under way on Monday. New Englands leading turf officials will join notables from other sectors in welcoming the sport to this picturesque course, but the accent will be on the ladies, who are likely to predominate because the Gansett management is reducing the cost of admission to the clubhouse for the fair sex on inaugural day. In addition, a gardenia corsage will be presented to each of the first 500 women who enter the clubhouse. From 1 oclock on throughout the afternoon, Bette Rand, Inc., the Providence specialty shop that staged a splendid* fashion show at the track last year, will stage an informal show in the clubhouse and terrace club. H. M. Stevens, Inc., famed caterers, are preparing a special lunch for ladies and their escorts. A fine program of nine races will vie with the pretty models for attention. Many additional transportation arrangements have been made for the 1952 Narragansett season. In addition to the usual fast express trains from Boston, bus lines from all parts of New England will be bringing racing fans right to the grandstand entrance.
