A nine-horse field goes to the post in the fourth race, topped by Hedrick Jr., driven by Ed Van Camp. Other standouts are Real Dusty and Champion Vic, who finished second on the muddy track Monday night. The sixth race and second division of the stake features Phil Bob, driven by Phil Mil-burn, Jr., and Lazy Boy, piloted by Ray Wagner. The third division of the event is headed by Imprudent and Prince Will Go. Actually the feature attraction is the 13 -horse field which sees action in the 21 class trot stake. Pearl Comet, classy little four-year-old mare, owned by Col. E. J. Baker of St. Charles, is expected to return to her top form. The little gal trotted a 2:081/3 mile at Maywood in her only victory in three starts. However, it was the only time that R. C. "Doc" tannery drove her. Flannery is the veteran pilot who drove the immortal Greyhound to most of his record-breaking performances which still stand after 20 years. Peter Comet will get plenty of competition from Volora, driven by Wilbur Beattie. Volora lost her last start by a breath. Another top contender in the field is Tommy Mite, driven and owned by Tommy Mills of Henderson. Ky. Gene Riegle, the 23-year-old sulky flash who was tied for first place among the drivers at Maywood Park, will pilot Dusty Lotus who also is considered a threat in the event. Riegle, who is driving this season in competition to his fathers stable, is considered one of the best young drivers to come along years. Most veteran horsemen in the Chicago area claim that Gene can outdrive his dad although Roy is considered one of the best training horses. Gene seems to know just when to make a move with his charges close races. In keeping with their minimum purse policy of no less than 00 only two races are offered on the program for 00. The rest are 00, ,250 and ,050, or more on three occasions. Racing secretary Jerry Baier says that the best assortment of trotters and pacers ever seen in the middle west are on the grounds ready to race. "Its not a case of a few top names." Baier evplained. "They are all good solid horses, who will be able to give the crowd a run for their money in all of our events.
