HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., June 24. — With the yearling sales season i approaching in California, Kentucky and 1 at Saratoga, considerable interest will be j shown next Monday at Hollywood Park in l the complete dispersal of the William Goetz s thoroughbred interests. Three of the 18 head to go on the block z for the movie executive are yearlings, which i might provide an indication of what the ; market is going to be like for 1952. The Goetz yearlings include a colt by r Khaled — Miss Barbara, a colt by Thumbs 3 Up — Girl in Armor and a filly by Thumbs Up — Mumsie. All appear to have the quali-d - fications which will make them eagerly-i- - sought by buyers. The Khaled colt is a half-brother to Quick Wink, who is also in the dispersal. His dam, Miss Barbara, will be sold, in foal to Khaled, She will also be represented by j a two-year-old Upkeep, and a weanling r filly, also by Khaled. Thumbs Ups two representatives are fashionably-bred on their maternal side. The colt is a brother to the winner, Sponsor, and half-brother to seven other winners in i California. The filly, out of Mumsie, produced - five winners, including White Cargo, ,, Gay Gloria and So Soon. Older racing stock in the important dis-7 - persal include the four-year-olds, Grantor r and Gold Note, and the three-year-olds, i, Your Hostess and Quick Wink. l |
