Ak-Sar-Ben Honors Several Nebraska Communities Today r AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., June 24.— - Ak-Sar-Ben will honor several outstate * Nebraska communities, a veterans organization l~ and another Nebraska race track K tomorrow as the Omaha civic organization J goes into the final nine days of its current 11 meeting. Following a custom originated several *1 years ago, the Omaha track, which each b- year plays host to outstate Nebraska and d Iowa communities, will have as its guests ts tomorrow several hundred visitors from m nearby 20 towns in northeastern Nebraska. a- The feature race of the day has been n named for Omaha Post Number One of the le American Legion which may have upwards is of 2,000 of its members in attendance for r | the running of the ,000 Cornhusker *r j Purse. Honorary stewards for the feature re J | will be American Legion Post Commander *T Jack Pease and Adjutant Tip Saggau, who 10 will present a 5 savings bond to the ie jockey riding the winning horse. Another feature on the mid-week card is the six-furlong Madison Purse, a ,500 0 event named in honor of the Madison, n Nebr., race meet which opens Monday, July V 7 and extends through Thursday, July 17. 7- Earl J. Moyer, of Madison, prominent ■t Nebraska attorney and chairman of the ie Nebraska State Racing Commission, will be present for that race, and Frank Geary, y president of the Madison Chamber of Commerce, *" will serve as honorary steward and II j will present the "Madison Races" blanket in the winners circle. A large delegation in of visitors from Madison will also make the ie. trip to Omaha to attend the special day at the races.
