Arlington Hurdle Race May Attract 13 or More Foxy Poise, Winner of Event in . 1951, May Be Choice on Friday ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, HI., June 24. — A field of 13 or more will go to the post when Arlington Park presents its second annual hurdle race Friday afternoon as a part of its regular racing program. The purse of ,000 is being presented by the Arlington Park track. The race will be run .over the turf course at Arlington Park for a distance of two miles, with 10 obstacles in the race. The jockeys will be gentlemen riders. It is a test for four-year-olds and upward, which have started in two races on the Midwest : Hunts racing circuit in 1952. It will be raced under the rules of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association. The hurdle race will bring together some of the outstanding jumpers from many I sections of the country that have competed in this area. Heading the entries will be Poxy Poise, . owned by Guilford Dudley, of Nashville, Tenn., winner of the first renewal of the | hurdle races at Arlington Park last year. He also won the Klarinski Hurdle at Arlington Farms last Friday. James Deaton, of Lexington, Ky., has entered Jarrin John, winner of the Iroquois Memorial at Nashville this year. Harry Nichols, of Detroit, has entered I Rendezvous, who won the Peter Hand Cup j in the Arlington Farm races last week. | Nichols also has Kardjar entered. Other entries include: Moot, owned by P. T. Cheff, of Holland, Mich.; Mareber, owned by G. S. Buder, St. Louis, Mo.; Tagnall, owned by Mary Howard, of Richmond, Va.; Storm Hour and Storm In, property of Dr. J. B. Youmans, head of the College of Medicine at Vanderbilt University at Nashville. Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Morris, of Lexington, Ky., have entered Page County. Prairie Imp is an entry of Mrs. Austin Brown, of Holland, Mich. Pert, owned by T. A. Mohlman, of Hinsdale, and Little Ken, property of T. W. Bullitt, of Louisville, Ky., complete the entries at this time. George Van Hagen, who is co-chairman with A. D. Riders who have already indicated they , will ride include Pat Murphy, Austin Brown, who will ride Foxy Poise; G. A. Buder, of St. Louis, Pat Furnival, an Eng- lish rider, and Robert Wilson, of Wilson, Ark. Two Chicago riders who had expected to , compete in the race will be out with in- J juries. Charles Jelke suffered a broken * collar bone in a spill two weeks ago at In- j dianapolis, and A. D.
