LE GAULOIS assumed a commanding early advantage, shortened stride when set down for the drive, but had enough left to prevail over MARCH AGAIN. The latter, away tardily and far back for six furlongs, responded to urging during the stretch run and closed determinedly ALPHABETICAL moved up menacingly when straightened for the final test, was unable to overtake the leader and was not unduly persevered with during the concluding strides. GRUMPITO tired when placed to punishment BOMBAZINE lacked a rally. SEA DEFENSE lacked speed as usual. FANBOROUGH quit. FRATERNAL was through early. WAR-ASTER stopped badly.
