1 . l I , : t 1 t J Cubs Down to 27 Players, Release Parmesa, Willis By the United Press The Chicago Cubs yesterday released catcher John Pramesa and pitcher Jim Willis outright to their Springfield, Mass., farm club to reduce their roster to 27, the limit permitted the club at midnight to-f morrow. Pramesa had not appeared in a game this year, while Willis was in two games. The Cubs can carry 27 players, two more than the usual maximum, because catcher Carl Sawatski and centerfielder Preston Ward do not count on the roster for one year because they are returned service men.
