Eatontown Receives Valley Forge Prep Pensava and Nine Others to Vie With Recent Winner of Dash at Garden State Park By WILLIAM C. PHILLIPS Staff Correspondent GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 11. — The third week of activities at Garden State Park will begin here tomorrow with a crack band of 11 sprinters vying in the Collingswood Purse, and climax on Saturday with the twelfth running of the one mile and 70 yards Valley Forge Handicap. The 0,000 added event carries a nomination list of 53 outstanding performers in the three-year-old and upward division. Mrs. Samuel M. Pistorios Tuscany, victor of last weeks Toboggan Handicap at Belmont Park, is slated as one of the early favorites for the Valley Forge, although among those who are eligible to take up the challenge are Brookfield Stables Intent, C. V. Whitneys Cold Command, Hampton Stables Alerted, and many other stalwarts of the handicap rank, including three possible representatives of the King Ranch: To Market, High Scud and Kamehameha. Mrs. Alfred Roberts veteran Eatontown deserves more than passing respect for the Valley Forge, and the gelded son of Easton will give a preview of his ability tomorrow in the Collingswood Purse. Eatontown finished third in the Camden Handicap on the opening program of this meeting and won his last outing under allowance conditions in satisfactory style. He has already defeated a majority of tomorrows opponents and he will be favored with jockey Joe Cul-mone in the saddle. Tuscany Model of Consistency Tuscany has been a model of consistency this season, winning not only the Toboggan against the roughest kind of company, but the Rowe Memorial Handicap at Bowie while being unplaced only one time in his light campaign through the last three years. Indian Land, a four-year-old Tintagel colt, defeated Tuscany when he won the Camden at this course. He appears ready to merit serious consideration in the handicap events this season, and he may be aided in his Valley Forge quest for owner A. G. Vanderbilt has also nominated the veteran First Glance, who recently won the Excelsior at Jamaica. Also viewed with respect in the Valley Forge list of possible starters is Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords Post Card, winner of the Laurel Handicap this spring. From the local campaigners come such threats as Joe Gavegnanos Joey Boy and Pensava, Mrs. E. H. Augustus Euclid, and Max Kahlbaums Jampol. Weights for the Valley Forge Handicap were released late today: Horse. Wt. Horse. Wt.
