t Rocky to Shadow Box Three Rounds in Dressing Room HOLLAND, Mich., May 11 UP.— Rocky Marciano, a slow starter, will shadow-box in his dressing room for the first time Friday night to prevent being dumped early by Jersey Joe Wal-cott. While the champion rested today, trainer Charley Goldman announced the "Rock" would have three fast rounds of imaginary fighting in Chicago Stadium before he marches out to the ring at 9 p. m. CDT. "Rocky is a slow starter," said little, bespectacled Charlie during a press conference at the Warm Friend Hotel. "We cant take a chance this time on sending him out cold. Hes got to go in hot. We dont want him on the canvass again in the opening rounds." Why is the Brockton blockbuster a slow starter? "Becouse he is absolutely without tension before a fight," the trainer explained. "He can sleep in the dressing room like Joe Louis used to. He has none of the mental fire that used to send Jack Dempsey out of his corner like a tiger at the opening bell. He starts slow, something like Max Schmeling."
