Pichon Appointed Steward For Detroit Course Meet DETROIT, Mich., May 22. — Teague Pichon, veteran of 26 years on American and Canadian race tracks, was named today as steward for the 57-day meeting of the Detroit Race Coure opening on May 28. A native of New Orleans and 50 years old, Pichon served as steward representing the Id— iagfll State Racing Commission at the New Orleans Pair Grounds this past winter. His appointment completed the roster of officials for the meeting, the others having been announced a fortnight ago. Racing Commissioner James H. Inglis approved Pichons appointment today. Serving along with Pichon in the stewards stand will be James H. Catlett, of New York. The pair succeed Dr. Alex Copland and Jack S. Young, both of whom resigned. Reappointed from last season by Inglis is Lewis H. Walter who will represent the Michigan Racing Commission in the stand. Pichon has held virtually every position on the race track. Aside from New Orleans, he has had long experience in Canada and several other U. S. tracks. The Michigan Racing Association this year is installing the film patrol system, which gives officials almost Instantaneous access to the films and aids them in making decisions.
