JAYS MOM, always within striking distance, took command when shaken and gradually drew clear. SWEET WENDY G. moved up boldly between horses at the furlong marker to reach near even terms with the leaders, was unable to withstand the winner, but lasted to outgame JIGGLE. The latter showed good speed throughout and held on willingly enough in a sharp effort. PINK CLOUD failed to respond when called upon for her best effort. EOCENE finished with good courage. HEARTACHE tired when the real test came. SINGING GIRL and WILD RISK were outrun. BEAT YESTERDAY quit, as did FORSAKEN. RELLIE was outdistanced early. BONNIE GEM never was dangerous. MEG MARCH, never far back, responded to pressure when straightened for the stretch run and wore down WAR ATOM in the concluding strides. WAR ATOM held a clear lead inside the furlong marker, tired during the late stages and, though unable to repel the winner, easily bested the others. BASHAW, far back early while racing on the outside, came to the inside for the drive, but was not good enough. FIT FIDDLE was forced to take the complete overland route when making his belated bid. CLOUDY, much used early, had little left. KADER quit. WHISKEY SOUR was never prominent. LE GAULOIS retired steadily after flashing brief speed. SAILOR LAD was always outrun. RpMAN WAY raced in closest pursuit of the winner during most of the journey, but failed to respond when shaken for the ultimate test. MARCHEAST, slightly unprepared at the start, worked his way forward to the stretch and finished with good courage. KNOCKS TWICE was outdistanced early. SPLEEN never was dangerous. HALLEY was not unduly persevered with when hopelessly beaten. JOE HOGAN stumbled and lost rider during the straightaway run down the backstretch. CAPTAIN BLOOD was reserved back of the early leaders, came to the middle of the track for the stretch run and was along in the final strides to gain the decision. PRINCE CHARLIE raced OREAD into defeat to maintain a commanding advantage when O settled for the stretch run, tired during the drive, but held on willingly enough in a sharp effort. PROTAGONIST JS was unable to seriously endanger the leaders when hard ridden through the stretch. CORSICAN raced forwardly r— to the furlong marker, then faltered. ORSINI had no excuse. TURN ROW lacked speed. OREAD quit. TURTLE - was outrun. SABETTE went to the front when straightened for the drive, was no match for the Winner, but easily bested the others. MILSPAL, outrun early, rallied mildly when subjected to brisk urging. HIS DUCHESS never was formidable. MY TRULY FAIR never threatened. PETAL was through after six furlongs. DAWN OF GOLD was outdistanced early.
