■ Reeves Will Do Portrait Of The Garden State Winner GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 22. — One of the awards to be given to the winning owner in The Garden State, worlds richest race for thoroughbreds, will be a fine portrait of the victor in the winners circle by the famous painter of equine portraits, Richard Stone Reeves. Word that the North Jersey artist has been commissioned to canvas the winner of the 00,000 added juvenile meet this coming October 31 was announced today by Walter H. Donovan, executive vice-president of the Garden State Racing Association. Nominating and eligibility fees paid by owners of two-year-olds for the event are expected to build the gross purse into more than 25,000. The race will be at a mile and a sixteenth and is expected to be a deciding factor in determining the championship of the juvenile division. The portrait by Reeves will be done in full color and the presentation of the work made at a ceremonial as soon after The Garden State running as the artist completes the commission.
