VICI ADMIRAL quickly established a commanding lead and never was seriously menaced while being ridden out. MARACABO reached the runer-up position moving between horses on the turn, made a good bid entering the stretch, then was not good enough in the final run. TOD MANLEY was taken to the inside soon after the start, saved ground and finished well. DANDY DAN was a prominent factor, came slightly wide into the stretch and finished evenly. PINE TOP came around horses to make up ground for a slow beginning. HANDILY raced on the outside and tired. ALL IN ONE was carried out on the stretch turn and faltered. STARRY SKY was outrun. WATERLOO raced in close pursuit of ANNA JARVIS, saved all possible ground, opened a safe lead when the latter raced wide into the stretch and won handily. MR. MAJORITY, in slightly close quarters improving position on the turn, closed willingly through the stretch and was going away over the others. BILLIES BEAM was hard ridden while steadily improving position and finished well. ANNA JARVIS displayed the best speed to the stretch, bore out badly on the stretch turn and weakened in the final stages. SCOTCH BUSH began slowly and closed a gap. STAGE LOVER could not reach the pace and faltered. DAZZLING MISS was outrun. BE FLYING quit badly. THORN was a sharp contender from the beginning, wore down BAYOU WAIF from the outside in the stretch and lasted to withstand WEST MILTON The latter was alertly sent into contention between horses, but ran into a pocket behind the leaders and had to be restrained on the final turn, then found room next to the rail in the drive and closed gamely under punishment. BAYOU WAIF showed the most speed, drew clear when roused for the drive, but weakened in the final run. SHORT HILLS was a keen factor and weakened. SUN CROWN raced forwardly on the outside appeared dangerous, but appeared short and hung. Won driving: second and third the same. TOP NEWS was under intermittent urging, saved ground and rapidly joined the leaders on the final turn, then gradually drew clear under steady handling. GREAT MOGUL lugged in badly on the field going to the first turn, despite the riders effort, contended for the pace and momentarily reached the front on the final tum, then could not stay with the winner in the drive. He was disqualified for impeding horses at the start and for impeding PAVOLD in the drive and placed last. NOSTREBOR was well placed behind the first flight and finished gamely. WHY SURE, forced back in the run to the first turn, circled wide rallying in the drive and could not get up. EL PICADORE was bothered at the start and forced back sharply, running up on horses heels at the first turn. PAVOLD held a short lead to the stretch and appeared to be tiring when pinched back badly by GREAT MOGUL entering the last eighth. BARBECK faltered. WILL TO WIN was blocked at the first turn. PEGEEN gradually gained on the pace after reaching stride and wore down SNUGGER under punishment in the closing yards. SNUGGER alertly went to the front, held a long lead rounding the turn, but gave way despite saving all possible ground in the drive. BANQUET BELL dropped back slightly rounding the turn, but responded gamely to take her place in the drive. IRON HEEL raced on the outside, made a mild bid entering the stretch and hung. PRINCE REGENT easily settled into a commanding lead, was allowed to use his speed freely after three furlongs and continued in handy fashion. RIDE M COWBOY lacked speed away from the gate, raced forwardly on the outside, then was steered to the inside for the stretch run and finished willingly. TWILIGHT SONG appeared threatening, being hustled forwardly on the final turn, but began to weaken in the last furlong. SHADOW BOXER slipped through on the inside entering the stretch and finished well. POMPOSITY was an alert factor for a half-mile and faltered. JET JOY improved position despite close quarters in the drive. WAR LASS began slowly. COPAKE quit. BEYLERBEY gave a dull effort. STOP AND LOOK never was far back and was under steadying restraint, closed willingly from the outside when roused in the final three -sixteenths and bested IGNITE while drifting over toward that rival. IGNITE raced within easy striking distance, came around contention to reach the front inside the last furlong, then held on determinedly while being forced to the inside by the winner. ELIAS G., unable to stay with WONDERFUL YOU on the turn, headed that one when set down in "the stretch, but weakened under the pressure. WONDERFUL YOU was alertly handled to show the most speed into the stretch and faltered. LADSLOVE was not a threat. COBBER was outrun, then was ridden out to a mile and appeared to sulk under punishment. CORFEL quit Scratched— 86739 Piping Arms, 104.
