Prince Regent Registers As Even Money Favorite Outruns Garden State Park Foes At All Markers in Bristol Purse GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 22. — Happy Hill Farms Prince Regent forgot to stop today and, instead of losing out by a nose as he did in his last two starts here, handily held his speed for a three lengths decision in the featured Bristol Purse. The handsome chestnut tthree-year-old, a son of Princeciuillo and Miss Marker, ran the six panels over a slow surface in a commendable 1:11%, and repaid even money to his gratified followers among a crowd of 16,812 turning out here today despite overcast skies -and a humid atmosphere. Janet N. Kellys Ride M Cowboy came from far back in the field of 12 and finished fast to be second by a half-length over Mrs. P. C. Gablers Twilight Song. The latter made a run at the winner through the early stretch, but was tiring at the end. King Ranchs Beylerbey, who was given an excellent chance by many, gave a dull performance and beat only one horse. Charles Burr rode Prince Regent, replacing his former rider. It appeared that Burr permitted the winner to "have his head, instead of attempting to rate him into the final stages, and the sophomore responded more kindly. In both of his recent defeats he had drifted out when set down for the drive, but he held a straight course today. Jockey Chris Rogers came through with one of his many good rides and captured the preceding Willow Grove Purse, scoring an upset worth 1.60 with Rusty Lyn Stables Pegeen. The juvenile daughter of Shannon TJ. was just up in time to nip Ada L. Rices recent arrival from Kentucky, Snugger. Darby Dan Farms Banquet Bell was a distant third and Mrs. Louis Lazares Sotto Voce, who recently finished a bang-up second in the Rosedale Stakes at Jamaica, dropped far back.
