For Satterfield, the Baker fight Wednesday evening poses as the most crucial in his career. Aware of the fact that a loss at the hands of Baker could spell "finis" to his boxing days, or else send him back to the preliminary ranks as an "also ran," Bob has been dead serious in his daily training chores. Fourth Ranking Heavyweight Baker, fourth ranking heavyweight in the division, will be making his Chicago debut when he steps through .the ropes Wednesday night. He is a huge fighting machine with 215 pounds of punching power behind him, and he expects to make short work of Satterfield. "I understand this Satterfield cant take a good punch, Bob said. "Well, I expect to end this one early because my manager has told me that he has another bout lined up for me if I m successful against Satterfield." Baker respects Satterfields punching power, and summed up Wednesday nights fight with this bit of sage abservation. "The first hard punch will decide the fight, I hope to get mine in first." . The 10-round semi-windup is a welterweight affair pairing Alan Moody, Robbins, HL, welterweight, against the rugged and experienced Hy Meltzer, 147-pounder from Miami, Pla. _ , A six-rouna uout win im.u*b Bickle, a new lightweight sensation from Topeka, Kan., and Rockfords Ralph Cervantes. Both will scale 138 pounds. In two four-round bouts, Gaby Marek, Harvey, 111., heavyweight, and Ellsworth "Spider" Webb, from Los Angeles, will both make their professional debuts. Marek, former Intercity Golden Gloves champion and one-time assistant boxing coach at Michigan State, will meet Earl Warfield, Chicago heavyweight in one or the four rounders. Spider Webb, an alumnus of Idaho State, where he captured two NCAA middleweight championships, is paired with Chicago middleweight, Johnny Johnston in the other.
