CHAR GIRL followed the pace closely, moved well through the stretch and wore down GLEEK. The latter set the pace under good rating, drew clear when roused in the early stretch, but was unable to retain the advantage. FOUR NOTRUMP failed to menace the top pair while rallying from far back. AFLAMES rally was insufficient. LOCHY was forced to steady while on the inside rounding the final turn and failed to rally thereafter. KING CHICO gave way badly. NEVER BETTER raced well to the stretch and faltered.
