Won driving; second and third the same HUMPHREY, forwardly Placed from the start, was on the outside for the stretch run and, closing fas under brisk urging, wore down GRANNY D. in the last strides. The latter took command at once, set the pace under pressure from BURGOO PLAY raced the latter into defeat but could not hold the winner, just missing. BURGOO PLAY raced with GRANNY D. to the final furlong, then weakened. LEGS was unable to reach the leaders when set down through the stretch. PHANTOM HEELS, caught in close quarters at the stretch turn, failed to -rally when clear. ALPHAS CHOICE made a mild bid approaching the stretch but failed to stay. HASTY SUN was never prominent. TRANCER was outrun. THIRZA was through early. WHIZ KID, rank at the post .showed nothing in therunning. The latter, a keen factor from the start, finished willingly under brisk handling, but could not reach the top one. DOUBLE BLUSH raced evenly for a half mile and closed strongly under punishment, but could not overtake OTTER BROOK PNUT VENDOR, in the middle of the track throughout, could not better his position when set down in the drive. GULF STREAM lacked early foot, responded willingly when set down through the stretch but could not get to the winner, although much the best of the others. WILLIAM TELL, reserved to the last quarter mile, could not better his position when set down in the drive. JIM BRIER could not keep up and drifted out during the stretch run. SWADELLE, forwardly placed from the start, alternated with BILLS HYGRO in setting the pace to the stretch, overcame mild interference when bumped by the latter entering the stretch and won under brisk urging. BILLS HYGRO engaged SWADELLE after the start, swerved to the inside and bumped the latter during the drive, then faltered when near the finish. ISLE SEA raced evenly after the initial quarter mile and had no excuse. DALEEN was unable to reach the leaders when set down through the stretch. LICKETY CUT tired after showing early foot. BLUE PATH was never dangerous. DAYLIGHT TIME showed nothing. GRANDAD was far back throughout. DEALER was through early.
